Charlotte has been saying the same thing whenver she wants to be carried for as long as Bob and I can remember. It goes something like this, "Mamma Carry You?" Or, "Dadda Carry You?" It seemed normal when she first started talking... she was confused and said little. We figured this was her learning how to talk and simply getting the words mixed up.
Well over the course of the past few months she's totally getting pronouns and stuff. It, he, she, you, me, ours, theirs, hers, his, etc. Those are pronouns, right? Well, we kind of figured, she'd start saying, "Will you carry me?" I mean, she says things as sophisticated as, "Her dress is blue, just like Thomas."
But nope, "Mamma Carry You?" is the only phrase she uses when she wants to be carried. Bob pointed out last night that perhaps when we carry her, she thinks it is called a "Carry You". Kind of like a "Piggy Back Ride" which she fully grasps and asks for. We think she is saying, "Mamma a Carry You?" which makes a lot more sense (if any of this is making any sense) and it makes me smile. For the longest time, every time she says, "Mamma a Carry You?" I respond, "You want to carry me? Well I think I'm too heavy!" She repeats (completely ignoring what I just said), "Mamma a Carry You?"
I think this is pretty funny. Two year olds really are the best.
On a totally unrelated note tomorrow I go in for my 24 week checkup. I can't even imagine what the scale is going to say...
