Are you ready for the weekend?

It has been a long, eventful week. All things considered, life is great... no complaints.
We replaced the main sewer line that runs from our house to the street. Our house was built around 1920 and the sewer was the original terra cotta pipe. It had shattered just about everywhere. Luckily we realized this before things got incredibly disgusting at our house. One of the joys of owning an old house means somewhat routine projects like replacing your main sewer line result in all sorts of hidden surprises. Ours was no exception. We had hoped to go "trenchless" which would mean not removing our driveway but those hopes soon dashed when we realized that at some point our sewer connected to the apartment building next door, and we had various diameters in pipe which required them to remove our driveway (a one foot wide section the entire length of the driveway), dig down about 5 feet, and replace it the old-fashioned way. Kind of figures the old-fashioned house would require the old-fashioned sewer... right? So much for the $$$$ we were hoping to use on something fun. At least we don't have raw sewage in our side yard!!! Did I mention Bob was out of town during most of this process. I was construction manager/decision maker and I did an excellent job!
We have new tenants moving into the rental house. That all happened this week... I think they are going to be great.
We have a new babysitter and while she is a super sweet girl, and awesome on all fronts, she isn't the old babysitter. I have been pretty nervous the past two weeks but upon hearing about their wrestle mania party last night I'm positive she's a keeper and that Charlotte will find a special place in her heart for her, too.
Major tennis fiascos this week. The weather here sucks. Air quality is bad. I had to make the call to cancel our tennis match due to bad air. The call was made about two hours before our match and I had to call everyone (and the visiting team) to let them know. I think I made the right call, even if one girl (who didn't get my voice message) showed up to play and was looking everywhere for us. We'll play two matches next week. Our scheduled match and the make-up. It should be fun playing Tuesday and Thursday and next week will be pretty mellow by comparison to this week. My work is in a holding pattern and Bob doesn't travel.
Needless to say, I'm totally ready for the weekend. Saturday my mom and I are going to a bridal shower for the friend who I've had the longest... we went to preschool together. Tomorrow night we're going to the concert in the park at McKinley Park. We're loading up Charlotte's wagon with picnic goodness and some cold, frosty beverages and meeting up with our friends the Lederers' (Jon, Laurel, Mia and Lucy).
It is probably a bit optimistic, but I'm hoping to squeeze in a nap somewhere this weekend, too! I think I need to harvest all the basil in our garden and make pesto. I hope the basil isn't past its prime.
