Charlotte... while she wasn't slow to talk, we certainly got the feeling she understood everything we were saying LONG BEFORE she gave us verbal feedback. She's very easy going, and will do just about anything but was pretty quiet for some time. She's full of it now. Quite talkative. Slowly she's beginning to say more and more, and string sentences together. It is great. We love it. Nonstop laughs and smiles at our house at some of the things she says.
One favorite... clearly we eat too much Mexican food at the Wagner house. We've made it a habit of going to a favorite spot, called 524, on our way home from the gym. We probably eat there once a week (minimum). When you ask Charlotte what she wants for dinner, in the cutest voice you could ever imagine she replies, "RICE AND BEANS!!!" She'll throw in a 'dilla and chips but clearly rice and beans are her favorite foods!
But today, we were at one of our favorite Sunday spots, Hoppy Brewing Company. Kids eat for $0.99 on Sunday, and for each meal you buy you take home a 20 ounce bottled beer. What a deal. So here we are, eating our hamburgers and Charlotte starts moving french fries from my plate, to her plate. As she's moving the fries she's saying, "one, two, three four..."
Bob and I are looking at each other completely silent thinking... did we just hear that? So I say, good job Charlotte... you counted to four. You know... "one, two, three, four, five!" to which she replies...
"Six"
So I say, "seven"
and she says,
"Eight!"
I'm like, um, wow! I said nine and she didn't give me a ten, but I suspect she knew ten came after nine. I'm thinking she probably knows her A, B, C's... shes just not interested in saying them out loud yet!
We love this kid!!!
