A bit premature

So maybe I was a bit premature to declare Charlotte's love of the ocean. Something happened between the night we got here and the following three days. For one, she hasn't had much sleep. Let's just say the tent we made with the dingy curtains and the pack-n-play that hotel provides aren't exactly as classy as her digs at home. She's been sleeping much less than usual which has resulted in what I think they call the "terrible twos". Bob jokingly said she is finally showing some behavior similar to her mother (e.g. moodiness).
Some of her favorite new terms, "go home" "go home" and "go home". Typically this comes out when we are at the beach. We have to laugh it off. But for whatever reason the ocean is no longer cool, the sand and making sand castles is okay. The pool at the hotel (I mean, the spa) is AWESOME... So if your thought of fun is sitting in a 95 degree spa while it is 80 degrees outside in the sun is fun... then come hang out with Charlotte!!!
Charlotte met this six year old girl, Sammy at the pool. Sammy was telling Charlotte she likes to watch TV. Charlotte leaned over and looked her in the eye and asked, "Thomas?" I told the girl Charlotte wondered if she liked Thomas. She said she didn't know who Thomas was. So Charlotte looked at her and said DUMBO? The girl shook her head no (who doesn't like Dumbo?). Anyway, so I took a third try and said "Strawberry Cake?" And she said, YES, I have it with me. She ran to the other side of the pool and returned with a whole case full of DVDs! Charlotte saw them and exclaimed, "COOL!" Bob and I cracked up. Then sweet Sammy gave Charlotte the DVD case to look through (did I mention we were IN the spa while this was going on). We explained to Sammy that Charlotte really shouldn't play with her DVDs on/near/in the spa and Sammy said, okay well I better put these back before my mom sees... um... good idea Sammy. Six year olds are funny!
When sleeping beauty wakes up we're heading to the track for "family day" and those cute little ponies are going to be on the infield for that pony ride we promised. If she says "go home" when she rides the pony, it just might break our hearts...
I think we're all looking forward to getting home tomorrow and seeing our beds!
