We are embarking on a new routine here in Wagner land. The old routine was gym or errands in the morning, followed by lunch, nap, and often gym again in the evening where I would either meet up with Bob to workout or participate in some organized tennis activity. It isn't as much gym as it sounds, but we truly do go often. Bob is amazed at the number of people I say hi to and enjoys the smile on my face and the fact that his wife can hammer out 60 (3 sets of 20) full-on-man push-ups... He can do them too. But he isn't 17 weeks pregnant and able to do them so I have one-up on him!!! I digress. Tuesday and Thursday around 11 a babysitter came over and I went to work. Two guaranteed work afternoons and then any other time during the day/evening I squeezed in work when I could. This routine was fine for a while (a long while) but it was growing old. I needed a little more time to work, I often found myself not getting to the office until 1 pm or so because of other little errands I would do Charlotte-less, I didn't really like putting Charlotte into the gym day-care twice a day, and the babysitting was expensive for the amount of work I was actually getting done on those two days.
So we made an abrupt change to all that. Starting last week, Charlotte goes to Busy Bee Nursery School three mornings a week. We picked Tues-Wed-Thurs with the logic being she gets three days in a row of school followed by four days of no-school. Four day weekends... AWESOME! With Thanksgiving last week, it was all a bit of a trial-run.
Now here we are an official week of the new routine. Today went well. I spent my time working, doing a necessary blood-draw/glucose test, and was finished with everything just in time to pick up Charlotte. We came home and went straight upstairs to get "cozy" read books and take a nap.
I finished lunch and started something for dinner and am making a mental list of all the things I'd like to accomplish during naptime: clean kitchen, make dinner (to re-heat when Bob gets home), finish decorating for Christmas, put away Thanksgiving and Halloween decorations, laundry, organize desk.
I am not sure what the new routine will do for our exercise routine. I don't see taking Charlotte to the gym day-care environment after she has spent the morning in pre-school... but maybe she won't mind? Too bad it is so dark or else we'd go for walks when she wakes up.
So much to figure out.
On a different note, I'm almost done with all our Christmas shopping... we leave for Hawaii December 19th and I can't wait. Bob has worked so hard this past year, and like mad lately, and I hope that Christmas on the Big Island with his favorite girls is relaxing and special.
